Case study: viticulture

Product applied in March, 2010 and evaluation carried out in August, 2010. First year result: relatively encouraging with a roughly 50% esca reduction rate compared to an untreated sample in the plot. The following year (2011), the results were a bit worse but still significant. On the other hand, the results were much more apparent in 2012 and 2013. A difference was even visible when sending vines through a tractor during tillage cultivation or copper sulfate treatment.

I observed other interesting side effects, especially in the area treated with ESK P which was a bit greener. I also saw more changes in the plants that replace dead vine stock.

I have used the product for four years at a ratio of 500 kg / ha. However, I intentionally concentrated use on young vines (5 to 10/12 years of age) because I believe it will be more advantageous as a “preventative measure” and not as treatment on already damaged vines, considering that it’s not a miracle product and that we must temper our expectations.

For me, it’s the product that gives the best results compared to other solutions on the market.

Case study: agriculture

I have worked in collaboration with maison Callegari for several years to my complete satisfaction, thanks both to the quality of their merchandise and to their customer service. Their Carbo-3 charcoal has let me avoid the use of copper as a steep water anti-rot agent in my hot rooms. Also, there are lots of possibilities to use semi-activated Carbo-3 charcoal, and its fungicide and liquid retaining qualities, not to mention its ability to change structure when mixed with a growing substrate, are very promising.

After applying Carbo-3 semi-activated charcoal, I noted how the fusariosis that attacked the green was stopped and trapped by Carbo-3. Also, I realized that the green was no longer damaged by the first frost thanks to Carbo-3. Also, I saw that I we can play on the green much earlier after winter.

Carbo-3 is very useful on the surface and in the ground (it doesn’t interfere with the game at all). This has let us have dry greens on the surface with much less dew and humidity. We spread Carbo-3 mixed with our sand using a Noblat DR900 spinner dresser and are very satisfied with the results.

I noted a 60% reduction in fusariosis just by applying Carbo-3, whereas I didn’t see any effect on the part of the green treated with standard fungicides. Also, I realized that the green was no longer damaged by the first frost because Carbo-3 absorbs humidity (which lets grass obtain water from Carbo-3’s pores and therefore no longer freeze) and allows the soil to warm up much faster. I also realized that the green can be played on much sooner after the end of winter and with much fewer diseases.

After the difficult 2012 winter, the green was invaded by fusariosis and lost all its color due to prolonged frost. In February 2012, we decided to apply (only) Carbo-3 on the surface of the greens without any other treatment. After only a few days I could see that the fusariosis was completely stopped and trapped by Carbo-3 and that the green’s color had returned. I then saw that the grass was re-growing at the heart of the area infected by fusariosis. Now we only have to use mechanical tilling to re-sow grass. I am really satisfied with these results because now my green is “green” again, it is no longer infected by fusariosis, and even the club members have congratulated me for these results.
